This won't be a very long post as lately I feel like I am in a constant state of running. I am not sure where the fall has gone. I typically sit down to blog on days that are rainy.... this is only the second of such days, that I am home, and it is raining in a 3-month span. I am really hoping we have a wet winter so that the growing season next year is not started with drought.
As I began the work of getting ready for winter on the farm, I have come to the decision that there is more work in the fall, and I much prefer the work of spring. But aside from mulching the strips the winterizing is all done!
I have so many plans in the work for next year! I have ordered most of my seeds and will begin starting seeds the day after Christmas!! I have 9 new rose bushes coming and several new Dahlias! This week I was able to get all my Fall Planting done! 1500 Tulips went in the ground as well as 250 Allium, 150 Daffodils, and 15 new peony plants! Sprig should be beautiful!.
We wrapped up our farmers markets in September. Maryville had a fall festival and then 1 more regular season market. Then we transitioned to Vendor Fairs, thus far we have set up for 3 and have 1 more in December! Then we will "take the month of December off". I am so incredibly thankful to everyone who made our first year of selling such a sucess!
We can't wait to share everything we have next year. So many plans to be bigger and better! Again, thank you to everyone who has supported us this year! We hope that you have a wonderful thanksgiving and hopefully I can get another blog post out in December!
